Mihail Mihaylov (b. 1976) is a sound engineer and music composer based in Sofia, Bulgaria. He is currently employed at the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR), Studio 2 where he works with award-winning national and international artists, and records music and radio features. He also creates the sound design for the Radio Drama programming at the studio.
Mihail started drumming at age 12. He is trained as a civilian air traffic controller and in 1998 earned an engineering degree from Bulgaria’s National Aviation Academy. Around that time he was active on Sofia’s club scene, won album of the month with his band and recorded a professional demo at BNR. In 2003, he discovered symphonic orchestral samples and was instantly drawn to composing. He has a Master’s degree in Sound Engineering from New Bulgarian University (2013). In 2015-2016 he studied at Berklee Online College of Music and earned specialist and professional certificates in Music Composition for Film and TV. In recognition of his academic performance, Mihail was awarded the Music Scholarship at Berklee Online.
Mihail is actively seeking collaborations with film directors, animators, video game designers and choreographers to make great music for their products.
